A home, Beautiful enough to inspire
Functional enough support daily life
Resilient enough to handle mess, play, & living
- I help women, especially busy mothers, create homes that support real life: movement, rest, creativity, and family rhythms.
Mariam el-Quessny holds a BFA in Interior Design from Pratt Institute — but homemaking itself came with no instructions. Balancing motherhood, homemaking, and her own ambitions without hired help or family nearby to lean on, she turned to what she did know: design. Pointed at her own home instead of a client's, that training gave her back time and energy no one else was going to hand her. That's the strategic home design approach she now brings to her clients — not perfectionism, and not decorating, but the same planning that got her through it.
Design isn't just decoration. Used deliberately, it's one of the most underused tools a mother has for getting her time and energy back — because the way a space is laid out either creates work for you every single day, or it quietly does some of that work for you. Most of what steals a mother's energy in those early years, and well beyond them, isn't a lack of taste. It's maintenance. It's the home constantly asking something of her.
That's where my expertise comes in — not just interior design and decoration knowledge, but a deep, practical sense of how families actually work: how chaotic real life with kids gets, and how to design a home that holds up under that instead of falling apart under it. I want your home to be life-proof. Chaos-proof. Child-proof, in a way that means you're not constantly on edge.
I see myself as an ally of the mother in this. I want your kids to have fun and get their needs met, and I want your whole family's needs met — but mainly, I don't want you to be the one constantly picking up where the design has failed you. It's an oxygen-mask thing: a mother instinctively pours herself into everyone else first, and taking care of yourself sometimes starts with taking care of your home's design — freeing up the time and energy you're spending maintaining it, and putting it back into yourself. My mission is to design a home that gives you enough time, energy, and space for your own dreams and self-care, so you can be a fulfilled person first — and, in turn, a good mother.
Through services like The Home Hotline™, Home Design Reset™, Home Support Session™, Design Without Guesswork™ and Slow Design™, I guide you step by step to transform your home into an ally — a place where Ambitions, family, and faith all have room to grow.
